So, will a third movie happen?
“It’s all sitting right there to be picked off the tree,” Paul told Entertainment Weekly. “Look, as much as I don’t like to do sequels and have avoided them, I have no rule against three-quels. There’s much more fun to be had with these characters and to see what they can get into and how they can get out of it.”
The second movie ended with Emily’s triplet Charity, who was previously believed to be dead, taking the blame for both her and Emily’s crimes and going to prison as Emily.
“Charity is a loose cannon,” Feig said. “So there are lots of places for her to go. Let’s just say, I hope to see Charity again.”
At the very end of the movie, Emily’s new mother-in-law Portia dropped in on her and revealed that she was aware of her secret… and asked for a “simple favor.”
“There are worse situations she could be in, to be quite honest,” Feig said. So what’s the favor? He said, “It’s something that probably nobody else in the family would want to do.”
Four major characters were killed off in the sequel.
