Penn Badgley is remembering his former Gossip Girl co-star Michelle Trachtenberg after her shocking death.
On February 26, we learned that the actress who played Georgina Sparks on the hit series had passed away at the age of 39.
While stepping out for the premiere of fifth and final season of You on Wednesday (April 23), Penn, 38, spoke out for the first time about Michelle‘s passing.
Keep reading to find out more…“What I remember of her is she was incredibly quick to laugh,” Penn told E! News. “She was really joyous. We all have our ups and downs, our lights and shadows, but she had this—I mean, she was mature, but she had this childlike, joyous laugh.”
Penn, who played Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl, acknowledged that he hadn’t crossed paths with his late co-star “in over a decade,” but noted that Michelle had a “really pure heart.”
“It’s surreal,” Penn added. “Really surreal, really saddening.”
Penn‘s comments come after Michelle‘s official cause of death was revealed.
