Allison Lanier is leaving The Young and the Restless!
The actress, who has been starring as Summer Newman for the past three years, shared the news on social media on Wednesday (April 30).
She also revealed when her last episode will be airing, and it’s VERY soon!

“Hi guys!! This Friday, May 2nd, will be my last episode on Y&R! I’ve loved the journey and learned so much but it’s time to grow in a different direction… very grateful for all of the Y&R fans who have supported me <3,” Allison shared on Twitter/X, to much surprise to fans.
A casting replacement for Allison has not been revealed at this time. According to Soap Opera Digest, it’s understood that there are no immediate plans for a recasting
Allison is the latest actress to have portrayed the character, and it even earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2024. She took over from Hunter King, who played Summer from 2012-2022, and she also received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2013.
