Fire Force Season 3 Overview
The highly anticipated third season of Fire Force officially brings the anime series to its grand finale, concluding the story inspired by Atsushi Ohkubo’s original manga. Once again, the animation is being handled by David Production, the same studio behind the previous two seasons. This time around, director Tatsuma Minamikawa returns to guide the final arc, while Sei Tsuguta takes over as the series composer.
News about the final season was revealed at the Anime Expo in July 2024, where it was confirmed that season three would be split into two parts, often referred to as split cours in the anime industry. The first part began airing on April 5, 2025, giving fans their long-awaited return to the intense and fiery world of Special Fire Force Company 8. The second part is scheduled to premiere in January 2026, promising to wrap up the series with a powerful conclusion.

For the first half of this final season, the opening theme song is “High Flame” (Tsuyobi), a high-energy track performed by the band Queen Bee. Closing each episode is “Urusiren,” the ending theme by Umeda Cypher, a hip-hop group.
Fire Force Season 3 Episode 2 Review

This episode opens with some serious stuff as we see Shinra getting devastating information with his Adolla link. In this vision, he finds out that Captain Burns is planning to implant a bug inside Captain Obi. This will definitely have a bad consequence, and Shinra and his company must do something about this whole situation before Obi gets hurt. Thus, rather than wait and strategize about how they will plan their next move, everyone decides to take action right away.
In this episode, we also see how Obi meant to transform his squad into a family where everyone would appreciate their lives. Hinawa specifically remembers Obi’s words, which reinforce his goal of rescuing him. On top of that, the Kingdom has been spreading false rumors against Obi and Company 8. They are broadcasting that Company 8 has kidnapped Shinra and has been keeping him confined.

They have also marked every member of Company 8 as a fugitive and are on a hunt for them. Many of the other special fire force members obviously do not believe this and understand that something fishy is going on. However, the most striking twist of this episode is definitely the involvement of Joker with Company 8.
I never would have thought a villain who had previously hunted the Company 8 members would now be helping them out. He also comes forward with very important information about the accurate location of Captain Obi. Not only that, he even agrees to go to that place with Shinra first while others follow close behind.
When asked why he is assisting the 8th Company, Joker simply states it is his instinct as someone who lives in the shadows. He also believes that they cannot lose Obi as the empire needs him.
Verdict

Today’s episode was definitely one of the best, as it did not waste any time to jump into the important parts. We are shown right away how antagonistic the world has turned for the protagonist and his friends. Our beloved Captain Obi is in a problem, and Shinra will not sit idle at any cost before he can save him.
